Callanetics Master Trainer Judy Mooser died Sept 23th 2011

Judy Mooser was my Master Trainer in 2008 when I did the home study program. She was kind, supportive, she brought to the home training program 20 years of experience. Judy taught me alot, I have all of our e-mails from the time she trained me in 2008, I will never delete those.

God Bless Judy, she was a beacon of shining light in the world of Callanetics.

My Callanetics Workout For Aug/11

For the month of Aug I have logged countless hours of Callanetics workouts! Normally I do Callanetics 10/10 2x a week, then Callanetics Evolution 1-2x a week and sometimes I will throw in Super Callanetics. I adore Callanetics that's why I do it so much!

Since restarting Callanetics my whole body has gotten so much stronger without getting bulky, my thighs are quickly getting longer, leaner and are hard to touch:)
My bum is way higher then before so my jeans look different on me. I have found that with Callanetics Evolution I've gotten stronger quicker then ever before, thanks to engaging my pelvic floor it has worked miracles!

Benefits Of Callanetics

Callan Pinckney started an exercise revolution in the 1980’s with her introduction of The Callanetics Exercise Method. This very personalized and unique form of exercise utilizes precise positioning to isolate specific muscle groups and then by using tiny yet powerful movements which cause the muscles to work even deeper requiring more muscle fibers to be recruited. More muscle fibers recruited means quicker toning and results you can feel in one hour and see in as little as two! Each muscle group is warmed, worked and then stretched to ensure total body health increasing strength, flexibility and endurance.

This results in a highly effective, deep muscle workout without the strain of other routines. Your back, knees and other joints will thank you. As will your tummy, behind, thighs. And for those of you who hate sweating, you won’t sweat.

Benefits of Callanetics Include:

High tight behind

Improved posture

Flatter toned abs

Long lean legs

Stronger pelvic floor

DO) Wear form fitting clothing, Callanetics is done with either bare feet or socks.

DO) Engage your pelvic floor, or tilt your pelvic up.

DO) Keep all of your counterpulls in place.

DO) Keep your body relaxed.

DON'T ) Wear running shoes.

DON'T ) Stick your behind or chest out.

DON'T ) Please, please don't get hung up on perfect form when starting Callanetics.

Who is Callan Pinckney?

Callan Pinckney (born 1939/40 as Barbara Biffinger Pfeiffer Pinckney) is an American fitness professional who created the exercise regime known as Callanetics. According to a Time magazine profile from March 1986, Pinckney is a ninth-generation descendant of one of the founding families of the state of South Carolina. She was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia in the midst of old Southern opulence.

However, she was also born with physical deformities of her spine and legs which required her to wear steel braces for seven years. She rebelled against the constraints of her social background, and left the United States without completing her college degree for what would become an eleven-year trek around the world.

Upon her return in 1972, and faced with more health problems, she developed an exercise regime based on ballet lessons that she had taken as a child. The success of these encouraged her to proselytize her techniques among her friends and eventually to write a book called Callanetics. Although slow to take off, Pinckney's persistence paid off and book sales soared on the back of appearances on the daytime TV circuit, notably on shows hosted by Oprah Winfrey, Sally Jessy Raphael and Phil Donahue. The book went on to become a major bestseller in the fitness genre and spawned a popular video as well.
When she was in her 30s, Pinckney changed her first name to Callan on the advice of a New York numerologist.
